So ever since watching An Inconvenient Truth, I've been thinking that I am going to start trying to take the bus every once in a while. I thought today would be a perfect day to try it out. There's a bus that stops really close to the house, and I don't even have to transfer. Plus, I had plans to go to lunch with a co-worker, so that solved my problem of not wanting to be stuck at work all day (I usually go home for lunch).
I was almost to the bus stop when I realized that I forgot my wallet. Not too big of a deal, because the stop is really close to my house, and by the time I got back to the stop the bus was pulling up, and I didn't have to wait. So I get on the bus, and everything is going along just fine, and my cell phone starts to vibrate. I almost ignored it, since I was on the bus, but I saw that it was Shea so I answered it (today is his first day at a new job). He goes, "Um, Speebie? Do you have an extra key to your car?" I had left my car parked behind his in the driveway.
Fourtunately, I remembered that I had a spare key at the house, which would have been really awesome except that it was in this vintage jewelry box that I have. The box is (was) in unbelievably perfect condition. It is this lovely cream colored box with green floral designs on the front and top, velvet and satin lining, and this little fold-down panel for pins. So anyway, for whatever reason it won't open, and Shea has to break the lock off. He got the key, but I am not looking forward to seeing what the box looks like now...
So I get off the bus and walk into work, and realize that my badge is where I always keep it, in the little pocket in the driver's side door of my car. Where I work, you have to have a badge to get up and down stairs, through doors, etc. Nice.
Then I get upstairs and my friend and I realize that neither of us has a car today, so we won't be able to go to lunch.
Boo!
Boo indeed!

that is poopy, but good that you were trying to use the bus. that was just the warming trying to hold you down and keep you from riding by throwing up obstacles! But next time, it will be perfect! What did you think of the movie? I took John to see it and then took my Mom to it yesterday (she'd be wanting to see it). This is megan by the way.
